A State high court sitting in Yenagoa, on Thursday, issued an interim order restraining associates of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, from organizing or participating in a proposed mega rally in the state.
The court’s decision is pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice filed before it.The rally, which was scheduled to take place in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on April 12, 2025, has now been put on hold by the court’s directive.

The legal action is believed to have stemmed from concerns over public order, political tensions, or possible breaches of existing regulations. This ruling temporarily halts any mobilization efforts or public gatherings linked to Wike’s political allies until the court hears the substantive arguments in the case.Further developments are expected in the coming days as the legal process unfolds..
